I am temporarily following a restricted diet - would this alter my results?

A restricted diet during theĀ 7 day period prior to your test sample collection could alter results, so if this is your first test (or you are planning only a single test), then it would be best to follow your regular diet during this time.

Think of your gut microbes as shy creatures hiding in various nooks and crannies of your digestive system. Different foods act like unique keys, each unlocking specific 'doors' and encouraging these microbes to come out and play. By maintaining your regular diet, you're providing a full set of keys, ensuring a more comprehensive and accurate snapshot of your gut microbiome. Restricting your diet would be like using only a few keys, potentially missing out on some important microbial 'guests' at your gut party.

Please note: If your regular diet is ordinarily restricted then this does recommendation not apply.
